Our Mission
To empower persons with disabilities through inclusive climate education, advocacy, and community-driven solutions that build resilience, promote environmental justice, and ensure no one is left behind.
Disability inclusion × Climate action — Uganda
We empower persons with disabilities to lead climate action - through inclusive education, advocacy, and community-driven solutions that leave no one behind.
Who we are
Persons with disabilities are among those hit hardest by climate change, yet they are too often left out of the conversation. Igniteable Foundation exists to change that: putting persons with disabilities at the centre of climate education, decision-making, and community resilience across Uganda.
To empower persons with disabilities through inclusive climate education, advocacy, and community-driven solutions that build resilience, promote environmental justice, and ensure no one is left behind.
A just, resilient, and inclusive world where persons with disabilities are empowered to lead and thrive in climate action and development.
What we do
Accessible training and awareness sessions that equip persons with disabilities and their communities with the knowledge to understand, adapt to, and act on climate change.
Amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities especially women in climate policy spaces, so decisions about adaptation and justice are made with them, not for them.
Working hand in hand with communities to design practical, locally-owned resilience solutions, from disaster preparedness to livelihoods that withstand climate shocks.
Our impact
In partnership with ICCASA (Centre for Inclusive Climate Change Adaptation for a Sustainable Africa), we convened women with disabilities, policy-makers, and community leaders to confront the barriers that keep women with disabilities out of climate decision-making — from inaccessible information to mobility and safety challenges during climate disasters.
